ClapHandies have joined forces with Responder Training to bring you a practical up-to-date paediatric first aid training course for parents and carers of babies and young children. The aim of the course is to teach you how to respond confidently in case of an emergency with your family and friends and how to best to avoid accident and emergency admissions.

The course director is Alice Walsh of Responder Training, Alice has extensive experience in the fields of Medicine and the business of Childcare. Alice is a registered General Nurse, Midwife and Intensive Care Nurse. The Responder Training team of instructors are all certified by the Occupational First Aid Assessment Agency and registered Occupational First Aid instructor with the Health and Safety Authority and with the National Ambulance Training Board, and have many years experience delivering occupational and paediatric first aid courses throughout Ireland.

• Accident scene management - Common home accidents / incidents and assessing the seriousness and action required
• Self Protection/ Infection/ Vaccination
• Temperature management
• Choking and air way management
• C.P.R. - Paediatric and Adult
• Burns and scalds
• Chemical burns & poisons
• Electrical shock & Home safety
• Medical emergencies, Diabetes, Epilepsy, Spinal injuries

Courses are charged at €140 for 1 place, €240 for 2 places, €330 for 3 places and €400 for 4 places.
Price includes course notes and certificate of attendance.

- Up to 1 week before course start, 50% refund (unless we are able to rebook your place, then 100% refund)
- Less than 1 week before course start, no refund (unless we are able to rebook your place, then we will will offer you a place on next available course)
